Prism Light - White Hot

101 Flash Fiction Prompts with Alex Allison and Emily Cordell: Inspired by the ideas from the book 'The Very Short Story Starter: 101 Flash Fiction Prompts for Creative Writing.' by John Gillard.

Prompt 2: Write a stream of consciousness without stopping for three minutes using the quote below as an initial spark of inspiration:Image result for let the world burn through you

The prism that is love is seen differently by everyone.

Felt differently.

The refractions of that white hot emotion creates different colours to every person that experiences it.

The refraction of light when the love is unrequited.

The different colours of two people’s hearts that will never meet.

The burning sensation of jealousy. The hardship of a breaking heart.

Shattering like the light that bounces into unique places in people’s minds.

The warmth of a reciprocated love.

The desire of passion.

Chemical unbalance.

The sting of betrayal and the loss of a person you thought you knew

But everyone experiences love differently

Just like we all experience the world differently.

Each colour different, each emotion different.

Each feeling twisting with another to connect the dots and make us human.

The world, like love, will burn you but it depends on who you are as to what you learn from it.
